Dr. Rafael Lopez, Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon,
Assistant Clinical Professor at George Washington University,
has joined our medical staff.
Dr. Lopez received his medical degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1981. He completed his residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Spine Fellowship at the Special Surgery Center of Cornell University. While in his residency Dr. Lopez was the recipient of the Richard Selznick Research Award and the AMA Physicians Recognition Award.
Along with his professional experience in private practice and in a hospital setting Dr. Lopez distinguished himself in the educational field as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at his post-graduate Alma Mater and in his current position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the George Washington University. In addition, Dr. Lopez is a Spanish speaking doctor.
Dr. Lopez will oversee orthopedic services including: consultations, surgeries, IMEs and implementation of new procedures and techniques.
Dr. Lopez will be seeing patients on a rotating schedule in our clinics in the Baltimore and Washington areas and the Eastern Shore.
